Last edit: 2023-09-11 ------------------------------ COPYRIGHT NOTICE: Please remember that, as with all SAA literature, the eBook version of your book is copyrighted. Please do not copy your purchased e-book files, except for personal use, or forward them to others. Publishing small excerpts of this material is permitted within the limits of the "Fair Use" clause of U.S. copyright law. ------------------------------ FILE FORMAT INFORMATION This download contains one .EPUB eBook file format. We no longer distribute .MOBI files, as Amazon no longer supports the format. We do not sell or distribute books in .PDF, .docx/.doc, .odt, .pages, .html, or other formats. .EPUB is the standard of e-book formats and is used by most major e-readers including Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook, Google Books, and Apple Books. ------------------------------ INSTALLATION Depending on the type of e-reader you have, instructions vary. These are generalized instructions. It is impossible for us to keep track of all readers and the changes to their operating procedures. Please refer to your device or app's instructions first. *** IMPORTANT *** If reading on a phone, tablet, or computer, you must have e-reader software installed to read e-books. This is important because, without the e-reader software, the device will not know how to open the e-book file. If you have an e-reader device, the software is built into the device. Smartphones and tablet computers often come with e-reader software pre-installed but this is not always the case. Regular computers with operating systems like Windows, Mac, Linux, etc. typically DO NOT recognize e-book file formats so you will need to install e-reader software. If you are uncertain of how to install the proper e-book file to your e-reader, please follow the instructions that came with your software/device or contact the manufacturer. Links to the help pages for several e-readers are listed below (see E-Reader Help Links) TO ADD THE E-BOOK TO YOUR E-READER LIBRARY Depending on your e-reader software or device, there are several ways to add your new book to your e-reader library. In general, you can: 1. BY EMAIL / WEB If you are using an Amazon Kindle, you can easily send the file to your Kindle using the "Send to Kindle" feature at https://www.amazon.com/sendtokindle. Other ways to send, including email, are described on the site. To send the file to your smartphone to open with Google Play Books, Apple Books, Nook App, or another app, first email the .EPUB file to yourself, then open that email on your smartphone or tablet (iPhone, Android, etc.). Most devices will recognize the attached e-book file and offer to add it to your e-book library after you open it. It may ask you which app you wish to use to open it. Make the appropriate selection. In most cases, the app will handle the rest. You may also be able to upload books to your library over the web. To transfer the file to your Google Play account, visit: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/3097151?hl=en-GB 2. MANUAL TRANSFER (FROM COMPUTER TO DEVICE/SMARTPHONE): You can connect your e-reader device to your computer's USB port and move or copy the file to the folder that holds your other e-reader book files. Once connected, most e-readers and smartphones will show as a USB drive with several folders. * Connect your device to your computer via its USB cable or a Bluetooth connection * Find the correct destination folder. This is the folder that contains the files of the other books in your e-reader library. * Copy or move the SAA book file to that folder. * Close the file manager application (Windows Explorer, Finder, etc.) and safely disconnect your e-reader from the computer. * Power up your e-reader. The new book should automatically be recognized. You may be asked to select the app you wish to use to open it. Make the appropriate selection. In most cases, the app will handle the rest. 3. COMPUTER-BASED E-READER USERS After downloading the file, you may: * Double-click a file and let the operating system open the e-reader application for you. -OR- * Move the e-book file to the library (folder) used by that application. Then, open the e-reader application. Your new e-book should be automatically recognized and ready to read. -OR- * Open your e-reader application and use it to open or import your e-book and copy it to its library folder. ------------------------------ RESOURCES SELECTED E-READER HELP LINKS Amazon Kindle https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html%3FnodeId%3DGDRLC59WEFZTBPU7 https://www.amazon.com/sendtokindle Android Devices Depending on which device and service provider you use, you may need to install an e-reader app before you can use an e-book.
